KERBS THANKSGIVING!

This year we were able to host the Kerbs family Thanksgiving, which went very well. My culinary skills are not top notch, but I have to say the feast turned out great. Out of all the pics the last one is my favorite. My sweet husband cleaned the entire kitchen, with help from his baby sis Lori.
-Eric, you are the best and I love you.
-Lori, hopefully you are home relaxing from all the hard work. You deserve it. Thanks so much for all your help, I could not have done it without you! We all want to thank you for bringing Grandma Joyce's recipes, I think it gave an extra special touch to our Holiday.
This Thanksgiving was in rememberance of Grandma Joyce and Grandpa Jack. We will remember many memorable moments of this Thanksgiving and hope they are happy watching there family enjoy each others company. I hope everyone enjoyed there time together, I know my little one did. Skylen loves her cousins very much and will miss them.

Happy Halloween!!!

We hope everyone had a great Halloween. The night was filled with fun and excitement. Our Halloween Party went well and everyone seemed to have had a good time. Skylen was an adorable Dorothy and Zander was supposed to be the Lion, but the costume never made it over his head. Not because it didn't fit, but because my little stinker of a son wouldn't put it on. As you can see I was the basketball referee and Eric was Jackie Moon from the Tropics. If you don't know who Jackie Moon (Will Ferrell) is, then you have not seen the movie Semi-Pro. Which in my opinion was no blockbuster hit.

We had a lot of great costumes this year. They included a few fairies, a couple of cavemen, spider man, Hanna Montana, "Steve" the Mormon Missionary, and the winner a Holy "$%*#". If you don't know what I am talking about then you should have come to The Kerbs Halloween Party. Hopefully, I will get a picture on my blog of the winner soon.

To finish this blog I have two things to say; 1) Grandpa we missed you and we hope to see you soon and 2)Your Dentist and Dental Hygienist want to make sure you don't forget to brush your teeth!!! Love ya:)

September 25th
Skylen turned 5 years old and had a great birthday weekend. On Thursday we had family over for a little dinner and birthday cake. Friday, was Skylen's birthday celebration at school and Saturday she had a small Birthday party with a few girlfriends at "Mind Over Splatter" where the girls had a great time painting pottery. Thank you everyone who helped make Skylen's birthday special.

October 2nd
Rocky Point vacation! We had a great time in Rocky Point, Mexico. Skylen quickly became friends with another little girl staying at the resort. They had a great time making sand castles and swimming in the pool. Zander LOVED the ocean. The water was soooo warm and clean, we almost forgot we were in the ocean.

October 7th
Family! WE had a great time visiting with my Aunt Pat, who was here visiting. All the girls got together for a fun dinner. It has been so nice having my mom and dad back. They have become snow birds traveling back and forth from Salt Lake to Phoenix. They are such a huge help and always great company. I know Skylen and Zander have also enjoyed the time together with grandma and grandpa.

We hope everyone is getting ready for Halloween! We've got some great costumes this year. I need to get a new camera, since mine has been broken. Yes, this is why I have no pics on the blog for Skylen's birthday or the vacation. Do you know how big of a hassle it is to use a disposable camera? Who knows when I will get around to developing them!

We hope everyone is enjoying the fall. It is FINALLY cooling down so we can play outside and enjoy the parks.

Blogging Break!

I have been terrible about keeping my blog updated, but I realized the people who were looking at it were people I see everyday. However, I need to say a little blurp about my baby starting school. Yes, I cried as I pulled away from the parking lot.

Skylen started half day kindergarten (Kindersteps) at Haley Elementary about a month ago and has adapted well. The first few weeks was a challenge trying to explain why we go to school everyday. Skylen's teacher, Mrs. Larson, says she has made many new friends and is quite the leader. She already has a little boy who won't leave her alone and she says he is mean. However, I have been told, Jack actually has a little crush on her and says mean things to get her attention. Boys, I better get ready. Skylen is working on her handwriting, reading and counting to 100. She amazes me everyday. - Skylen I love you and I am very proud of you.

Lake Powell FUN!!!

Lake Powell is always a great time for our family. We have not been for three years due to pregnancy and babies, but finally things worked out for the kerbs to join the Steadman/Day Powell Vacation. The weather was perfect and the company was awesome. All we were missing was the Ross gang and uncle Jon (Ashlyn's husband), maybe next year.

Yummy Grandpa, want a taste. Zander had a good time as long as he could play and hike up the mountain. Life jackets, diaper changing and sun block were a few of his unfavorite things. Yes, we had our moments, but what do you expect with an "all boy" who is almost two?

Can you believe it? It is my baby skiing. Skylen is such a brave little girl, we were soooo proud of her. After watching the boys try the skimmer she decided it was her turn. GIRL POWER!!! No wimps around here.

But, Skylen's favorite part about the entire trip was the Days' two little dogs, Reba and Peanut. If you ask Skylen why her mom won't let her get a dog yet, you might hear this response, "I'm not big enough to pick up the poop." Sorry, it was the only thing I could think of to put her off for a little longer. Mom isn't ready for a dog quite yet.

Zander's favorite part was behind the wheel. As you can see Grandpa was just fine letting go for awhile. But, when Zander fell asleep at the wheel it was time to take over again. This is true, Zander literally fell asleep holding the wheel on the drive home.

Here is the crazy sisters having a great time as well. Yee-haa Ash!!!

Zander's best bud had to be Dad. He never wanted Dad to leave his sight. I think we are going through a little separation anxiety again.
Over-all we had a great time and can't wait until next year. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for another awesome Lake Powell memory.

4th of July Weekend!

The 4th of July came and went without a big firework bang. But We had our own fun swimming in the pool. BBQing and making a quick holiday smore. Our holiday didn't really start until later when Ash and Jon came over. We did a lot of eating and a ton of swimming. Lucky no one sank, lol.

Hot, Hot, Hot!!!

Wowie, it is mighty hot here in the valley of the sun. The last two days have been 112 degrees. Walking outside is like walking straight into a furnace. But, we are trying our best to stay cool. We are in our pool everyday and sometimes twice a day. It is really the only thing that saves us from melting. Skylen has been doing awesome in her swim lessons. She rather be under the water than above. Her swim instructor calls her a little fish. She loves diving off our rocks and diving for the rings. I think next year we may try swim team.
This weekend I tried to get caught up on my scrapbooking with my sister Ashlyn. We pulled a late nighter on Saturday and had a lot of fun.
Today, we attempted to get Zanders 18 month picture taken at kiddie-kandid. I am lucky I am not bald; I was ready to pull all my hair out. Zander has a mind of his own and today his mind did NOT want to get his picture taken. Thank you Ashlyn for all your help. We tried our best. As you can see from the picture on the right, there was no smiling going on.

We have a busy couple of weeks. Eric and I went on vacation to Catalina for five days. The island is a great getaway when you just want to relax, have some great food oceanside, and not to mention cooler weather. I actually got the cold chills a couple of nights. We went kayaking, boating to see sea lions, and a tour of the island.
Skylen and Zander had there own little vacation at home. My sister Ashlyn and my brother-in-law Jon stayed with the kids. They kept them very entertained. They had many adventures; the puppy store, the water pad, the movie. They are going to be awesome parents when the time comes.
We are trying our hardest to stay cool. Skylen has been staying busy with all her lessons. She has been taking gymnastics at a new gym the last six weeks and she has almost conquered the rope climb. She just finished a little cheerleading and computer class given by the city of Chandler, she loved both of them. We are now trying to fit in some swim lessons before school starts July 28th.
Zander finished his little abrakadoodle art class, which was a lot of fun. He loved making a mess. He starts swim lessons on Friday, he loves the water, like his big sister.
Our pool is now finished and we have lots of room now that we have moved, so please come and visit. Everyone is invited!!!
